Good deeds, false believes. Good deeds, encircled by an invisible imprisoning army of false believes. False believes, inextricable from second thoughts, making agonizing choices an endeavor. Thoughts that cage my soul fill the morning hour down the rabbit hole and up the ivory tower. Words that cage my soul fill the morning after down the rabbit hole and up the iron tower. Conditions, so set in stone and still such soft receivers of violent volition, at times. Times, when I feel myself almost levitate from pain, but no toil can obliterate my demons for good. Moaning quietly under rectangular routines. Sobbing silently on preposterous believes. ||: Prison preserves :|| ||: Prison preserves :|| Thoughts that cage my soul fill the morning hour.

Head stuck on a foreign body, body stuck with a fooling mind. Castigation mistaken for pleasure, Exultation soon left behind. Jeg vet meg ingen råd. Each taste a source for more yearnings, every bite a silent reproach. every swallow an act of contrition, performed by a body remotely controlled. Empty shelves and empty boxes, empty seconds, shivering veins. And she takes her shirt of for a temporary pleasure, she takes her shirt of not to feel alone, she takes her shirt of for a temporary pleasure, afraid of her reflection she must carry on. And she says: People they drink and have destructive relationships, they do all sorts of things just to convince themselves of not being worth it. Numbed dreams, suppressed desires, frostbitten feelings, ingested tears. And she takes her shirt of for a temporary pleasure, she takes her shirt of not to feel alone, she takes her shirt of for a temporary pleasure, she’ll hide herself and tries to carry on. Afraid of her own reflection she will carry on.

I smell the steam of jasmine rice, and I watch you closely, while you explain the world to me, and I can tell that you have grown old. I hear the small talk of folks around, and I watch you closely, while you open up your past to me, now I can see why you work so hard. Refrain: Wrinkles on friends‘ faces, a collection of life‘s traces, telling stories, leaving spaces. I hear the sound of celestial scales, and I watch you closely, while you wipe away your black stripes, and every teardrop echoes loud and clear. I take a drag of your cigarette, and I watch you closely, while you try to hide your weak side, and I wish I could see through every lie. Refrain

about

Imagine travelling on the Bergen line from the west coast of Norway to the capital in the east, across the Hardangervidda plateau. Snow-covered rocks, glacial lakes, and birch forests whiz by outside your window.

Johanna Seim (Berlin/Bergen) and Sjur Nyvold (Rauland/Oslo) could be the soundtrack to the Bergen line's magnificent route. A journey where you can just listen and feel. With their blend of traditional Norwegian sounds and modern songwriting, Johanna and Sjur convey personal and intimate stories we can all relate to. It's about looking to the small to reach the big. Both in life and in music. Their soulful and honest texts in German, English and Norwegian carry a refreshing curiosity about the mysteries of life.

Their debut album "Temporary Pleasure" is intimate and down to earth, accompanied by melodious guitar finesse, delightful piano chords and captivating Hardanger fiddles. On the record they are joined by top-notch drummer Martin Langlie (Valkyrien Allstars), who added his distinctive rhythms that hammer a little extra in the soul. Bård Ingebrigtsen (Frøkedal, Valkyrien Allstars) produced and mixed the record, and now it is finally ready to be shared!

about

Johanna Seim & Sjur Nyvold Bergen, Norway

Johanna Seim and Sjur Nyvold share a love for traditional fiddle music, rhythms and the nakedness of the voice. They met in the small mountain town of Rauland, southern Norway, where Sjur grew up and had returned to after a decade of pursuing arts in Oslo, Tromsø and Berlin. Johanna had exchanged the buzzing life of her hometown Berlin for the remoteness of Rauland to study the hardanger fiddle. ... more
